Well, the weekend of Paisan Con is finally here. I am very excited for this event!

What? You don’t know what Paisan Con is? Let me share…

For two full days, you can meet actors, artists, attend lectures, speak with non-profit organizations, enjoy great food, and more. And the best part is it is all based on our wonderful Italian heritage. Do you want meet to Lorraine Bracco? No problem. Thinking about joining UNICO? They’ll be there. Have you wanted to learn about the Museum of the Old First Ward? Guess what; they’ll be there as well!

This weekend will celebrate all things related to our heritage. And if you aren’t a paisan by birthright, you can still join in on all the fun!

Oh, and did I mention I am leading three lectures? No? Let me tell you about them.

On Saturday, I’ll be sharing what I learned about the Italian immigrant neighborhoods of Newark while researching my upcoming book, The Italians of Newark. On Sunday, I’m hosting a two-part talk about genealogy research and what I learned along the way about my family.

So there will be something for absolutely everyone. They will even have a magician for the kids! This is a completely family-friendly event.
